Our studio and gallery is located in the borough of Christiana Pa., Lancaster county. This area is rich with examples of Redware pottery. Here my spouse Mary and I create culturally appropriate functional Redware pottery. Our pottery is food safe, microwave safe, and oven safe earthenware. It can be used with the traditional techniques of early redware. We decorate our ware using clay slips, glazes, slip trailing an sgraffito techniques. These decortive techniques help us to be true to the aestheic of this area.
My training in the Arts took place at Allegheny Community College and Slippery Rock University. In my studies, I was influenced the Folk Art pottery of Japanese master potter, Shoji Hamada. I was trained under the master potters, Paul Jay, Richard Wukich.
